AR/Collections Specialist
Mission Viejo, CA Temporary $35.00 - $40.00/hr Onsite

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced AR / Collections Specialist to manage accounts receivable, collections, and cash applications in a high-volume environment. This role requires hands-on expertise with QuickBooks Desktop and strong communication skills to work effectively with customers and internal partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounts receivable and collections
  • Perform outbound collections via phone and email; follow up on past-due accounts
  • Apply cash receipts, ACH, wires, and checks accurately in QuickBooks Desktop
  • Reconcile AR aging reports and resolve discrepancies
  • Research and resolve billing issues, short pays, and deductions
  • Prepare weekly/monthly AR and collections reports
  • Maintain accurate customer records and credit notes
  • Collaborate with sales and operations to resolve payment issues
  • Support month-end close related to AR

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of AR and collections experience
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop (required)
  • Solid understanding of AR aging, reconciliations, and cash application
  • Proficient in Excel (basic formulas, reports)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, or distribution environments
  • High-volume AR experience

  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Full-time, Monday-Friday
  • 100% on-site in Mission Viejo
